This is a different offering from Chapin than his adult romance. it is written in the YA style with lightness through most of the prose, then dipping deeper in small bites. A Chance at Love follows Kyle as he faces some heavy-hitting problems, first with his own unbelief, then with the hypocrisy of other believers. Frankly, my only complaint about this book would be that for a new Christian, Kyle does dig quite deep into things and faces things that even a person knowledgeable in their faith would struggle with, but that does not detract from it being a good read.
While YA is not my cuppa tea, I am still giving it five stars because the writing completely fits and is well-executed within that genre, proving once again Mr. Chapin’s talent and ability fo adapt to whatever the Lord lays upon his heart to write.
I was given this novel in exchange for an honest review, it in no way is a promise of a positive. My thoughts and feelings are completely my own.
