A Spy’s Devotion ~ Melanie Dickerson

A Spy's Devotion (The Regency Spies of London #1)A Spy’s Devotion by Melanie Dickerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Miss Julia Grey knows that she needs to find a husband, but her options are stifled by her small dowry and her lack of parents. Her Cousin, Pheobe, is a vivacious, if vapid, socialite and brings Julia to all her social functions where she meets the honorable Lieutenant Langdon. She is sure he would never want her as he must marry well, he is a second son after all and Pheobe has set her sites on him anyway.

I enjoyed the main characters, their strength and depth. The secondary characters were more one-dimensional and I never really figured out how Julia could come to the conclusion the Pheobe cared for her…I certainly didn’t take away that impression. I enjoyed the build-up, wondering if he or she would get caught and if either of them would ever figure out or admit what was happening between them.

I was given this novel courtesy of NetGalley in exchange for my honest review which I have given.
