Mishaps off the Mainland: Independence Islands book 5 giveaway

Today’s addition to the Pet Parade!

Meet Clover, AKA super bunny!

Clover is a miniature but he doesn’t know that. He thinks he’s pretty big and amazing. He loves the comfort of his enclosure, but take him out and he’s inquisitive and humorous.

He loves to stand on his back feet and sniff, then wash his face. Even after having cats my whole life, I don’t think there’s anything more adorable than a bunny washing his face. Though, on the rare occasions that he sploots (lays on his belly with his back legs kicked out), that just might top it.

Bunny’s don’t vocalize much except for some chittering, which pretty much means he’s angry with you. Usually, he’ll follow up the chittering with a loud back leg thump or kick (yup, thumper was real, y’all!)

When he’s happy, he runs laps. He’ll do that if you give him treats. Who would ever guess that bunnies love treats? His favorites are bunny doughnuts, grapes, and graham crackers. He’s also a good actor. If you give him a treat and walk away, he won’t do anything. If you give him a treat and wait around, he’ll show his thanks by running around his enclosure until you walk away.

My peculiar rabbit isn’t snuggly very much but many are. We got him when he was about a year old, so a bit late to form that kind of bond. We’ve tried to encourage him, but he just doesn’t like that, so we don’t push him. He’s happy to run around when we let him out.

How does this relate to the new release? Well, in Mishaps off the Mainland, Mel is the owner of a mobile pet grooming service. While Clover probably isn’t a good candidate for a grooming, I sure could use her help during shedding season!

All Mel wants is to run the business of her dreams.

Melody Carmichael’s mobile pet grooming business might sink before it can sail when a favorite

pet escapes her care. Doggie escape-artist, Daphne, got a taste of freedom, and the Afghan hound

refuses to be found.

Enter Zeke Solomon. Desperate to bring the dog home for his grandmother, Zeke steps in to save the day.

And working together with Zeke would be a snap—if they could just find the dumb dog.

Zeke is desperate to prove himself worthy of the Solomon name and step out from his father’s shadow.

With his father breathing down his neck and demanding he return to the company business, Zeke

must decide whether confronting the man he admires most is worth the risk of alienation.

Everything’s falling apart, and Mel’s dream transforms into a nightmare. She thought this was what

God wanted for her life, but can you blame her for second-guessing everything?

Was it all just a mistake?

Mishaps off the Mainland is the fifth “Merriweather book” in a new series featuring five islands, six authors, and a boatload of happily-ever-afters.
