Matchmaker’s Best Friend
Let’s plan a wedding with Reese!
Matchmaker’s Best Friend takes us back Pen Reese’s small group of friends scattered over the Independence Islands who have been friends since they were in a homeschool coop together years ago. Pen Reese is wedding planner and single, something her aunt has decided isn’t compatible.
Trouble is, Pen has been in love her whole life with a guy who treats her like a sister…because she put him there.
Pen decides to showcase her talent as a wedding planner by offering a free mock wedding. If you were going to give her advice, what would you include as your favorite part?
For me, I love weddings and ceremony. I actually love the similarity of each ceremony as a rite. But for things that are unique, I adore table favors. Especially when they are unique. I told a family friend about these sweet table favors that I wanted for my wedding but I didn’t have time. I was working 40 hours a week to pay for our wedding (and college, because I was only halfway through at the time), and I had to let that go.
When I went in the basement of the church on my wedding day to make sure everything was ‘just so’ my friend had made them and placed them at all 250 seats. They were a little mesh bag of two Hershey’s kisses (one with almonds and one without) and there was a little flag she’d printed out just like on the kisses that said, “hugs and kisses from the Mr. and Mrs.”
This image is obviously not from my wedding, I don’t have a picture of the table favors. Comment below with your favorite part of a wedding and click the link below to enter the giveaway! (Giveaway limited to March 29-April 4).
About Matchmaker’s Best Friend
In case you haven’t heard what Matchmaker’s Best Friend is about…Here is the synopsis:
“You’re just like a brother to me. I don’t like you in that way.”
When they dated ten years ago as teens, it almost destroyed their friendship. So Pen Reese did the only logical thing. She lied about how she felt—and still feels—about him.
She’s still paying for that lie.
A brilliant plan to set Mike and a friend up and get over him has one problem.
It’s breaking her heart.
When Pen pushed him away, Mike Gaines assumed she just didn’t understand his faith. People like her persnickety aunt even claim he’s part of a cult—ridiculous, but it’s true. Still, if she wants him to play the part of a big brother, fine. At least he can stay close this way.
At first, Pen’s attempt to set him up with one of her close friends hurts. But what if it’s the perfect opportunity to show her what she’s missing if she sees him with someone else?
In this friends-to-more-meets-second-chance romance, The Matchmaker’s Best Friend continues the Elnora Island romances of the Independence Islands Series featuring five islands, six authors, and a boatload of happily-ever-afters.
